HFUU East Hawaiʻi Chapter Annual Meeting

Aloha Kākou,

We have two special events coming up this weekend. On Friday there will be a screening of the inspiring film, Dirt Rich, at the Palace Theater in Hilo. Cost is $8.50 (gen. admission) and $7.50 (seniors).

The following morning, Saturday, is our annual meeting from 10am-2pm at Kulaniapia Farm, 177 Kulaniapia Drive in Hilo.

Here’s the full meeting agenda:

10:00a: Biochar demo begins (intro, building, igniting/managing the burn)
11:00a: Potluck
12:00p: Annual Meeting: Updates, Planning, Election of New Board
1:00p: Finish the Biochar Demo (quenching the pit, discussion)

Bring some ono food to share, learn about exciting developments in regenerative ag, vote for new leaders for the chapter, and learn how to make biochar from a master!

Locavore Potluck: Empower this meeting with your special creative and nourishing dish (for 8 or more). Those who come without a dish will be asked for a suggested donation: $10: Members • $12: Non-Members

BYOU: We have reusable plates and utensils but feel free to bring your own from home! We would like this to be a zero-waste event!

Produce and Seed Swap Table: Please bring produce for the ‘Produce Swap’ table. Farm Fresh Produce for swap and for those in need is a tradition at Farmers Union meetings. Please help to make our table overflow.

Member Sign-up and Renewal: Please come early if you want to sign up as a member. Become a member at the meeting and dinner is on us.
