You are receiving this email because of your affiliation with the Kaua'i chapter of Hawai'i Farmers Union United (HFUU).
We will be picking up our schedule of regular monthly meetings again starting this Wednesday. I hope the Summer has been a productive and fertile time in your fields.
Here is the agenda for our meeting:
6:00pm: Pule / Potluck
6:30pm: "Hemp-An Agricultural Revolution for Hawaii". Ray Maki will present a discussion on the Industrial Hemp Program in Hawaii, and the implications for Kauai farmers. We will be detailing the nutrient and field needs of the crop, and all of the opportunities for added value products and other employment possibilities that Hemp will answer.
7:15pm: "Open Tatura Orcharding on Kauai"- Anny Bruch will discuss the Open Tatura orchard system and the new Tatura installation and workshop on Kauai. Finally, we have a solution to hurricane survival for our perennial orchard crops on Kauai.
7:45pm: Announcements, State Convention announcements, Pau
This will be an action and information packed meeting that will kick off our new season as a chapter of the Voice of the Family Farmer on Kauai. Please arrive on time, and bring a potluck dish if you are inspired.
