Potluck/Meeting, Monday Mar. 19th.

Aloha Kakou *|FNAME|*,

This month's meeting will take place this Monday at Mohala Farms in Waialua.

We will begin gathering around 6:30 and start with a potluck locavore food spread. I will give a brief re-cap of the National Farmers Union policy convention followed by our "keynote" speaker for the evening, Hannah Shipman from Blu Planet Foundation. Hannah will talk about renewable energy and opportunities for farmers.

Directions to Mohala Farms from Honolulu:

Take the H-1 freeway heading WEST to the H-2 freeway heading NORTH.
Continue on the H-2 freeway past Schofield Barracks. Keep going forward. At fork in road, take left fork (Hwy 803), following sign to Waialua (right fork is to North Shore/Haleiwa). Along Kaukonahua Road/Hwy 803, drive through agricultural fields, then begin winding down road through ironwood trees (total of about 5.9 miles from fork to our gate). At intersection with Hwy 930, take a left turn. (Right turn is to Haleiwa). You will be in front of a Yellow Iron gate with sign “Goats for Sale”.
Code for this gate is 1212#

Head down this paved road towards Wai'anae mountains. Go straight ½ mile, past ruins of old church and through second Green gate.
Code for this gate is the same, 1212#

Go straight about 500 yards. DON’T TURN ON PAVED ROAD IMMEDIATELY ON THE LEFT. Continue straight past the cemetery on the right and we are the first driveway on the left (with sign outside for Mohala Farms).

Upon leaving the farm, the Green Gate will automatically open, just stay on the right hand side of the road and pull up about 10-15 feet from the gate. The gate will swing open towards you.

When you reach the yellow gate, use the keypad on the left and punch in the code 1212* (Same number but different symbol).
