About Our Presenter
Muthukumaru Sooriyakumar, or simply Sooriya, as he is known to the community of Wai'anae, is a world-renowned copper artist and the hanai son of Dr. Agnes Kalaniho'okaha Cope. As founder of the Mouna Farm Arts & Cultural Village, Sooriya has spent his life exemplifying the compassion and aloha this project hopes to inspire in all who participate.
Working with the greater community of Hawai'i and the world, the Whale Project will bring Aloha, unity, peace, harmony, compassion, and planetary healing through the creation of art. This project will create the world's largest whale sculpture, brought to life by the hands of Wai'anae's children and the support of the multinational community in Hawai'i, exemplifying the Aloha spirit and humanity's cooperative nature.
