VICTORY for our Farmers!

HFUF receives a $90,000 State of Hawaii Grants in Aid (GIA) in collaboration with HFUU Waianae & Waimanalo Chapters

Official announcement came earlier this week from the capitol building that the Hawai'i Farmers Union Foundation (HFUF) was awarded a GIA of $90,000! This award was a collaboration between the Wai'anae Chapter, Waimanalo Chapter, grant writer Saleh Azizi and the Hawai'i Farmers Union Foundation (HFUF). HFUF mission is to raise money for specific programmatic purposes of the Hawaii Farmers Union United (HFUU) and to further our goals of supporting farmers and agriculture in Hawai'i. The $90,000 will be used directly in support of distributing produce grown in Wai'anae and Waimanalo. By creating an avenue of distribution support for the small growers and backyard growers, we hope to be a part of the solution of creating a sustainable future for O'ahu and Hawai'i. We are immensely grateful for the support of the State of Hawai'i, Rep. Shimabokuro, Rep. Gates, Rep. Lee, Rep. Thielen and countless advocates at the State of Hawai'i legislature.
